Affordable, accessible childcare is nearly nonexistent.
Food insecurity is rising every year.
And while resources exist, they’re scattered, difficult to access, or placed behind barriers that most families simply can’t climb.
We asked ourselves:
What would it look like to build something different?
What if a single project could directly address the core barriers that make families feel stuck — lack of food access, lack of support, lack of stability?
The Spare Keys Project grew out of that question. It’s our commitment to building something that withstands the test of time, by being more honest, more humane, and more effective.
Something that restores dignity instead of paperwork.
Something rooted in care and built to repair.
This project isn’t charity.
It’s community infrastructure — created by people who’ve lived these struggles and refuse to let another generation face them alone.
